{DIY mani of the week}

So right now, I am majorly obsessed with painting my nails. I love that such a small task can make me feel so pretty. Here is what I went with this week!

Mint! And I love it!!!!

I know a lot of people are loving the Revlon Minted polish, but I picked up the Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. A few bucks cheaper and pretty much the same color! Minty fresh with a touch of sparkle!

Here are the polishes I used for this look!

{One coat base. Two coats Mint Sorbet. Sparkle on each ring finger. Top coat over all}

If you are wondering what colors are popular for this spring check out this great post on my friend Alyson's blog!

Have you discovered Hello Cotton yet? Well it's pretty fabulous! Such a fun way to follow your favorite blogs and with GFC going away, this is a GREAT alternative to stay in touch with the blogs you love! I hope you'll follow me! I'd love to follow you too!

Hope you have a happy day!

{patchy goodness}

Hey there! I hope your week has gotten off to a happy start! A HUGE THANK YOU to all who came and linked up to Made With Love yesterday! It was Sew Chatty's largest link up to date! So fun! I hope you'll browse through all the awesome projects! It's like a Pinner's dream come true!

Don't worry! It's not too late to join the party! Come link up your projects and recipes HERE.

With the amount of sewing I do for the shop and custom orders, I end up with TONS of scraps! I hate to throw them out so I hoard them like a crazy person until my scrap bin is overflowing. It was getting out of control so I decided to sew up some large pieces of patchwork to use for some upcoming projects {probably this tote}. I love patchwork.

I went through all my scraps and organized them by color. I mixed some aquas and oranges for this piece! Working on a yellow and gray colorway as well as red and aqua! Fun times :)

Hope you have a great day! Happy crafting!

Good morning and happy weekend to you! I listed some fun new goodies in the shop for you yesterday!

Introducing the....

It's fully lined and padded. You don’t have to keep a Kindle in the pouch! The pleats open wide which allows for lots of stuff to fit in there. It would also double as a fun little clutch! Approx. 5 x 9" There are 5 available and ready to ship. ***This is a Keyka Lou Pattern.

and also, I'm having a little sale on my Crochet Newsboy Hats

With the 80 degree temps we've been having, I've given up all hope of winter so all crochet hats are 25% off in the shop with the code COZYCROCHET.

Happy Shopping!

{a week in my life}

Hey there and happy Friday to you! I snapped some fun pics of little life moments around here this week. Wanna see?

Carter is not a very touchy feely boy so when he put his hand on me while we were watching TV, my heart pretty much melted. Big gushy mess!

Made some burp cloths for a new mommy in our church. You can never have enough of these if your baby is a puker. Loving the fun boy prints! Boy fabric is hard to find so when I find some good ones, I get jazzed!

My boys made a new compost bin. When we asked Carter what goes in there, he said "YUCKY STUFF!!! and then the worms eat it."

Still super loving my gray nail polish!

The kid LOVES the oven mitts. It's the craziest thing. Look at those beautiful calzones!

Seriously, how cute is he with his toothless smile? LOVE.THIS.BOY.

I MADE A BLOG BUTTON!!!! I fear code in a major way so this is a big deal. I'm going to be doing a little advertising on some other blogs to increase my reach for my advertisers. If you want to know more about advertising here, just check out my advertisers page for all the details!

This beautiful peach colored rose is currently living in my front yard, but it's coming inside today so I can enjoy it!

Super foggy this morning!!! Not the norm here that's for sure! It quickly burned off and became a super sunny 81 degree day. Happy February!

The Kindle Clutches are now available in the shop! I only have 5 so if you want one, snag it up quick!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend!

I'm linking up with these awesome ladies today!

{style me pretty...gray nail polish!}

I think I've mentioned this before, but one of my New Year's Resolutions was to paint my nails more. It's such a simple thing, but makes me feel pretty. I've been having tons of fun trying out new colors!!! Here is the latest!

What to try it out too??? Here is what I did: A coat of the clear base, 2 coats of NYC "Sidewalkers", one coat of Essie "Set In Stones" on each ring finger {now calling it my BLING finger!}, and a coat of clear on top.

I was super impressed with the gray polish itself. Went on really evenly and dried really fast! Crazy cheap too. Got it at Target for $3.

I think I'll try mint green next. What fun nail colors have you tried lately?

{hey four eyes...}

Yep, I heard that A LOT growing up!

I've worn glasses since I was 10.

In the fifth grade I started to get a lot of headaches which led to a thorough eye exam and resulted in my very first pair of eyeglasses.

I'm not too proud to admit that my eyeglasses prescription is pretty bad. I'm pretty much as blind as a bat in my left eye with virtually no prescription in my right. My left eye is considered a "lazy eye" but fortunately for me, it doesn't wander. I inherited that from my mom. Her lazy eye did wander though and would appear as if she wasn't looking at you when she really was. This eventually resulted in corrective surgery. I can still remember at one of my birthday parties a friend of mine made fun of her because of her eye. It broke my heart. Kids can be so mean.

Over time, I have learned to embrace the fact I must wear glasses if I don't want headaches. A few years ago I tried the contact lens thing, but because my prescription is so super awesome, I only needed one for my left eye which made ordering them a pain and I never really got over the whole sticking my finger in my eye situation. Not a fan. Sooooooo, I wear glasses. And I'm cool with it.

Today, I am partnering with GlassesUSA.com to bring you a some really great offers!

GlassesUSA is providing you a really great opportunity to purchase your glasses online

SPECIAL OFFER!
