Hi friends! Happy Friday! I have BIG NEWS!!! I am so excited to be partnering with Shabby Apple {an online boutique of women’s dresses} to bring you a really fun GIVEAWAY! The biggest giveaway EVER on Sew Chatty! Merry Christmas TO YOU!

If you aren’t familiar with Shabby Apple, they are an online retailer of women’s clothing specializing in super cute dresses and skirts! They even have adorable maternity wear!

I was given the opportunity to review the Humboldt Current Skirt and I LOVE it!!!

It’s a pencil type skirt with a higher waste. I had originally planned on wearing it very differently, but then the weather got COLD so I had to go for the chunky sweater and boots! I can’t wait for it to warm up so I can wear with a cute little blouse and my aqua cardi!

It fits really well too! The sizes are pretty generous. To give you an idea of the fit…this is a small 6/8 and I could stand to lose about 7 lbs!

{recipe}…super simple guacamole!

Hi friends! I am sharing my super simple guacamole recipe with you today! I have been making this for several years now it is always a big hit! Only 5 ingredients…here we go!

The ingredients are very basic. I am a simple cook. I think simple food with few ingredients is the way to go! The secret ingredient here is the olive oil…yes I found a way to make avocados more fattening…you’re welcome!!!! It makes it so smooth and creamy…YUM. The lemon adds a great citrus flavor and the the salt just brings it all together. It’s so good. All you need is:

2 Avocados

Juice of 1/2 lemon

1/2 tsp salt

2 Tbsp finely chopped onion

2 Tbsp olive oil

Directions:

Slice open avocados. Remove seeds and scrape out the yummy goodness into a bowl. Roll your lemon on the counter a few times to get the juices going, then squeeze the juice of one half into the bowl. Add 1/2 tsp salt. Add 2 Tbsp olive oil. Finely chop up the onion and throw that in too. Mix it all together and let it sit at least one hour in the fridge before serving! Enjoy :)

I doubled the recipe because I had 4 avocados that needed to get used.

Made With Love {link party} #54 & a weekend recap…

Hi there! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I got hit HARD with a stomach flu on Friday night. So not fun. I’m on the mend now, but taking it slow. Utilizing the BRAT diet (banana, rice, applesauce, toast) until I feel like I can actually eat again.

Me being down for the count meant the husband ran my booth at the Sonora HS cheer boutique on Saturday. I tried to hang in there for as long as I could, but we ended up having one of the cheerleaders run my booth while he ran me home. Luckily it was close by. He finished out the day there for me and ended up getting a few great shots of the booth too! Love this one!

The boys took a quick lunch break at In N Out. One of the simple pleasures of life in Southern CA.

{a week in the life...}

Hey there! It's been another busy week around here! This time involving lots of Christmasy things! Here are a few pics from our week...
 

 Carter got to take home the class pet...Flash the frog! They are having many adventures :) He begged me to take this pic!

 Trader Joe's is SO MEAN. They are constantly creating delicious treats that I just can't say no too. Dang.

 Love love love my new coffee mug. It's from Anthro and it's so purdy. Makes my coffee drinking experience even MORE enjoyable.

Here is a glimpse of Christmas around our house! I've had that Advent calendar since I was a little girl and now Carter gets to use it. Don't you just love my dining table centerpiece? I'm going for practical this year!
