{Our game basket...play ALL the cards}

We love to play cards. We're super competitive, but all in good fun. Being the young adults pastors at our church, we have the gang over each week. Most Wednesdays they come early for dinner and stay late to hang out so I got the idea to keep a basket of card games in our table centerpiece. Now every night is game night!

Here's our re-vamped centerpiece! This was super easy and fun to throw together. This fun pink tray houses our straws {paper and plastic for those who think paper straws are creepy...they kind of are}, our salt and pepper shakers {dollar store}, my happy owl vase {Ross} and our new little game basket!

In the basket lives all of our favorite card games! Dutch Blitz is my FAVORITE!!!!!! I learned it while we were camping. Addicted. I for real bought it on Amazon the day we got home. Also in the basket are Story Cubes because Carter LOVES them, Farkle dice {more on that in a second} and a notepad that I washi'd {of course} and a pencil to keep score of all the games.

Ok, about Farkle. We heart the Farkle, but that canister thing is way to big for my cute little basket soooo...

I made a cute little drawstring pouch for the dice and instructions! Way cuter than the clunky canister right?! Yes.

Thanks for popping in to see me today! Have a happy day!

{DIY: Washi Tape Organizer}

Hi my name is Elizabeth and I'm a washi-holic. It's true. I love the stuff. Because of my washi hoarding tendencies, storage became an issue. What's a girl to do? Go to the Pinterest of course. Pinterest never lets me down. People are so clever.

Yep. A wire hanger wrapped in washi and formed into a circle hanger thing. Brillz.

Here it is in action at my wrapping/shipping station. All rainbow and cute. And I hate to say it but I've added like ten more rolls since making this thing. We're at max capacity folks.

Do you have washi hoarding tendencies too? Well hop on over to My World-Made By Hand for the full tutorial.

{Let's SEW something}

Are you looking for some new sewing inspiration?

Head on over to my pin board I created just for sewing projects! 245 projects on there currently which ought to keep you busy for a while!

Here are a few projects I'm dying to make as soon as I get some free minutes!

1. How cute are these mason jar cozies from A Pretty Cool Life? Love. So much cute. And I don't know about you, but I drink so much more water when my cup is cute!

2. The Awesome Bag from Versus Mag. I have the perfect fabric for the lining and I'm thinking chambray for the outside. And some cute fabric covered buttons. Yes. Definitely. Great grab and go bag for the fall.

3. Lovin' these fabric bangles from LBG studio. I'm having a hard time locating the hardware, but as soon as I do, I'm making a million of these. Great scrapbuster and such a fun little gift idea. If you've seen the hardware somewhere recently, let me know!

4. Mama needs a cute new apron for all that fall baking. Great tutorial from Amy Hearts It.

5. I'm addicted to these tshirt scarves at Come On Ilene. Soft and cozy. Perfect for our weather here that's not too cold but just cool enough for a cute scarf and boyfriend cardi. Perfection.

What's on your sewing list this month? Head on over to my board and check out all the fun projects! Have a happy day!

{RECIPE: Slow Cooker Mac & Cheese}

I'm sharing another simple crock pot recipe with you today! And this one is a CROWD PLEASER. My most requested dish all. the. times.

Ingredients:
1 lb Macaroni noodles
1 stick butter
1 lb Velveeta
8 oz bag sharp cheddar
1 qt. whole milk

Directions:
Cook noodles for half the time recommended on the package. Drain and dump in the crock pot. Cube butter and place in crock pot stirring to coat noodles. Cube Velveeta and place in crock pot. Pour cheddar in. Pour milk in. Stir well making sure everything is mixed up nicely. Cook on low for about 5 hours until melty. You'll want to stir it a few times during the cooking process.

We LOVE this as a side dish with BBQ or fried chicken. It's everyone's favorite!

*NOTE: don't try to lighten it up with low fat ingredients. It's just not the same. It's way fattening, but just go with it ;)

{oh, just a little summer crafting}

Summer is wrapping up for us. Just a few weeks left before the little goes back to school. Bittersweet really. We've had a great summer, but I always love getting back to routine. Routine is my favorite. But for now, we're soaking up these last few days the best we can!

Content provided in partnership with JoAnn Fabrics. I was compensated for my editorial work, however all thoughts and experiences are my own.

Summer has had us on the go a lot. We almost always are bring lunch and snacks and toys and various things along wherever we go so I figured it would be fun to make a tote bag with Carter that was just his! A place to contain all of his stuff that ultimately he is responsible for. Want to see how we made it???

 Gather your supplies! A plain white canvas tote, your colors of choice, any appliques or embellishments you'd like to add. Not pictured, the squeeze bottle we used to mix the dye in and then used to apply the dye. Note: We ended up not using the appliques which bummed me out because I thought they were cute, but Carter likes things plain. Anyhow...
 We did this project in the bathtub. Line your tub with and old yucky towel you don't care about. Wet and squeeze dry your tote. Section off with rubberbands. Mix dye according to the package directions.
Grab some gloves, and let your kid squirt the dye on the bag. He figured out the pattern he wanted and went for it. Good times.
Mix your next color and repeat the squirting process. Yes, it's very hard to tell that we used orange AND yellow because they look exactly the same. Once you're done dyeing, let it sit for a bit then rinse it under water until the water runs clear. Snip your rubber bands off and unscrunch your bag.
Ta-da! We let our bag air-dry outside for a few hours then we gave it a quick wash in the washing machine by itself. All done and ready to use!

Carter loaded his tote up with a few books, some little toys, and Uno and we went to the park to soak up some sunshine!

If you're like us and have a few weeks left of summer there's still time to do some fun crafty stuff with your kids! Head on over to JoAnn's Cape Discovery and check out all the awesome projects.

Coffee. Gimme.

peet's coffee starbucks keurig single cups k-cups single serve brewer, peet's coffee, starbucks, k-cups, single cups
Content provided in partnership with Peet's Coffee & Tea

I like coffee. I neeeeeed coffee. I'm a one cup a day girl, but that one cup is per magic. I love Peet's Coffee so I was so excited to hear that they are now making a K cup. Big fan of the Keurig.

Fill 'er up. Sidenote: I brewed coffee in a regular coffee pot the other day and oh. my word. It took FOREVER. The Keurig has spoiled me rotten.

Coffee. My planner. New Sharpie Pen. The perfect morning.

We were able to try both roasts. I loved the Cafe Domingo and my husband preferred the Major Dickason's. He likes DARK strong coffee where as I'm more of a "I'd like some coffee with my yummy creamer" kind of girl.

 As soon as we're out, I'm buying more! I spotted them at Target today yippee!!! Go grab a box or two. Your morning will be so happy.
