Menu Plan Monday and what I’ve been working on…

Hope you are all settling nicely into fall. It’s hot here AGAIN so it doesn't really feel like fall. I miss the rainy days of last week! We had fun jumping in puddles and making potato cheese soup and sipping tea…now it’s back to shorts, flip flops, and air conditioning. I just want fall to commit already!

mpm-1

This week is packed as usual so our menu is filled with EASY tasty things!

Monday: Salmon w/ cilantro butter served with lemon pasta and salad

Tuesday: Parmesan Dijon Chicken w/ broccoli and roasted potatoes

Wednesday: Homemade Pizza, salad

Thursday: Breakfast for dinner! Egg scramble, with toast and orange slices

Friday: softball…take out…Subway perhaps?

Saturday: friends birthday dinner

Sunday: Have friends over for Sunday dinner???

Be sure to check out OrgJunkie for more great menu planning ideas!

Last week, in my birthday post I had BIG ambitions for lots of personal sewing. And while I did get a few pretty things made, I didn’t get to cross off everything. Oh well. They’ll be waiting for me the next time it decides to rain. Here is what I did manage to get done…

A Fall-y tea-towel apron for all that baking I plan on doing

(excuse the really lame self portrait…)

A ruffley Bible Cover… I love it. Made my OLD NIV Study Bible feel new again!

I also made this gathered clutch wristlet to give my friend for her 30th birthday.

Happy birthday to me!

Yesterday was my birthday! I am officially 30 something…sigh. Just kidding, so far my 30’s have been fabulous! I had a GREAT weekend spent with all of my favorite people (except my mom…wish she lived closer!). On Friday night we went to Disneyland (well California Adventure since Disneyland closed at 7pm for their really expensive Trick-or-Treating thing…what a bust), then to Downtown Disney for some ice cream…yum. Saturday I got my nails done and did some shopping and then we had friends over for a bbq and game night. We had a blast! My husband made awesome chicken and beef skewers and I made the BEST chocolate cake in the whole world and everyone that came brought yummy food too. Such a great night! Sunday, I got a little crafty (see below!), then we went to lunch at Sam’s Place in Downtown Brea. Really yummy food. If you live near me, check it out! Then we headed to our church to set up for the Vision Dinner. I am super lucky to have such wonderful people in my life!

Ok so onto the craftiness. I snagged this cardi on oober sale at Target last week. I had been eyeing it for a while but wanted to wait until it was dirt cheap…I’d say $5 was as dirt cheap as it was going to get! Luckily they had my size still.

I wanted to make it a little more “me” so I popped off the green buttons and added 8 different fabric buttons. Cute right? I got lots of compliments which made me feel good considering it was birthday and all!

Since it’s borderline grandma I made sure the rest of my outfit was extra trendy…skinny jeans and ruffley shoes (which were $7 on clearance at Target)!

I have a break in my custom order schedule so I’ve decided that this week I am not sewing for anyone but me! I’m thinking a fally apron, a ruffley Bible cover, a Halloween table runner, some cute new throw pillow covers for the couches, a few new grocery totes, hemming some way too long jeans (also a clearance find!), and if I have time…2 quilt tops. Whoa that’s a lot! But it’s raining here and I’m feeling domestic. Let’s see how much I can actually get done! Stay tuned for updates throughout the week!

Ready, set, sew!
